The Legend of Jig Dragonslayer.

Blood of the Emperor, de Tracy Hickman. Serie: The Annals of Drakis/3.

Sinopsis:

From the New York Times bestselling co-author of the Dragonlance novels...the stunning conclusion to The Annals of Drakis.

It appears that an ancient prophecy is about to be fulfilled as the human named Drakis—formerly one of countless warrior-slaves to the elves of the Rhonas Empire—returns from his quest in the North. Flying into the rebel camp with his surviving companions on the backs of the legendary dragons that were once humankind's most powerful allies, Drakis is hailed as the champion of all the slave races. But it is not a prophecy that drives Drakis in his war against the elves and their emperor. Rather it is his burning desire for revenge against the cruel ruler whom Drakis believes has stolen any chance he has for finding peace. And this hatred will set Drakis and his rebel army on a path that may not only bring down the emperor, but Drakis and his entire world as well....

Sinopsis:

The second novel in the "enthralling" (Midwest Book Review) Annals of Drakis fantasy epic.

The fates of Drakis, former slave warrior of the elven empire of Rhonas, and Soen, former Inquisitor of the Iblisi, are inexorably tied to the magic of Aether-lifeblood of the elven empire and the cause of humanity's fall. As each searches for the truth beyond legends, he must face his own destiny: Drakis amid the ruins of humanity's Lost Citadels; Soen in a desperate race to seize control of the farthest Aether Well of the empire...

The Legend of Jig Dragonslayer, de Jim C. Hines. DAW, edición en rústica, 668 páginas, 16 dólares. Género: Fantasía épica. Serie: Independiente.

Sinopsis:

If you think being a big, strong, brave fantasy hero is hard... just try being Jig the Goblin.

Here, together for the first time, are the uproarious, unforgettable adventures of Jig the Goblin—the most unlikely hero you will ever meet. In this collected omnibus of Goblin Quest, Goblin Hero, and Goblin War, readers will follow the epic (if mostly accidental) exploits of Jig: a puny, clumsy, bespectacled runt of a goblin whose intelligence, wit, and unbelievable luck allow him to survive when fate thrusts him into a world much larger—and far more dangerous—than any he ever imagined...

Home from the Sea, de Mercedes Lackey. Serie: Elemental Masters.

Mari knows that in her family, children are expected to marry at eighteen, to an appropriate stranger. However, Mari is a fledgling Water Master with a rebellious nature. She has no intention of agreeing to any arranged marriage. But Mari has yet to learn the truth of the magical heritage that must be protected by these very marriages. For the Protheros are descended from Selkies—magical beings who are able to change from seals to humans—and to continue her line, she must marry a full-blooded Selkie...

Bared Blade, de Kelly McCullough. Ace, edición en bolsillo, 320 páginas, 7,99 dólares. Género: Fantasía épica. Serie: Fallen Blade/2.

Sinopsis:

From the "inventive, irreverent" (Green Man Review) author of Broken Blade comes a new Fallen Blade novel featuring Aral Kingslayer. Former temple assassin Aral Kingslayer has a price on his head and a mark on his soul. After his goddess was murdered, Aral found refuge in the shadow jack business, fixing problems for those on the fringes of Tien’s underworld. It’s a long step down from working for the Goddess of Justice, but it gives Aral and Triss—the living shadow who is his secret partner—a reason to get up in the morning.

When two women hit a rough spot in the tavern Aral uses for an office, he and Triss decide to lend a helping hand--only to find themselves in the middle of a three-way battle to find an artifact that just might be the key to preventing a war. And with so many factions on their trail, Aral and Triss are attracting a lot more attention than anyone featured on ten thousand wanted posters can afford…

Dragon Rule, de E. E. Knight. Roc, edición en bolsillo, 368 páginas, 7,99 dólares. Género: Fantasía épica. Serie: Age of Fire/5.

Scattered across a continent and scarred by their harsh experiences on the path to adulthood, the three dragon siblings are among the last of a dying breed—the final hope for their species’ survival.

Wistala, sister to the Copper who is now Emperor of the Upper World, has long thought humans the equal of dragons. She leads the Firemaids, fierce female fighting dragons who support the Hominids of Hypatia.

Which puts her at odds with both her brothers, for the Copper has no use for the humans he now dominates and AuRon, the rare scaleless grey, would isolate himself and his family from both the world of men and the world of dragons.

But as the Copper’s empire roils with war, greed and treachery, the time is fast approaching when Wistala will have to choose who to stand with—and fight for...

Tin Swift, de Devon Monk. Roc, edición en rústica, 384 páginas, 9,99 dólares. Género: Ciencia-ficción. Serie: The Age of Steam.

Cursed with becoming a beast every full moon, Cedar once believed his destiny was to be alone. But now, Cedar finds himself saddled with a group of refugees, including the brother he once thought lost.

Keeping his companions alive is proving to be no easy task, in part because of the promise he made to the unpredictable Madder brothers—three miners who know the secret mechanisms of the Strange. To fulfill his pledge, Cedar must hunt a powerful weapon known as the Holder—a search that takes him deep into the savage underbelly of the young country and high into the killing glim-field skies defended by desperate men and deadly ships.

They monitor the Internet for potential criminal activity, analyzing trends in the extreme fringes of explicit content. And occasionally, even more disturbing patterns arise…
Three ex-cons have been murdered in Germany, Italy, and Scotland. The only things they had in common were arrests for spamming—and a taste for unorthodox entertainment. As the first officer on the scene of the most recent death, Liz finds herself sucked into an international investigation that isn’t so much asking who the killer is, but what—and if she doesn't find the answer soon, the homicides could go viral.

Grave Memory, de Kalayna Price. Roc, edición en bolsillo, 384 páginas, 7,99 dólares. Género: Fantasía urbana. Serie: Alex Craft.

Sinopsis:

When the dead need to talk, Alex Craft is always ready to listen…

As a Grave Witch, Alex solves murders by raising the dead—an ability that comes at a cost, and after her last few cases, that cost is compounding. But her magic isn’t the only thing causing havoc in her life. While she’s always been on friendly terms with Death himself, things have recently become a whole lot more close and personal. Then there’s her sometime partner, agent Falin Andrews, who is under the glamour of the Winter Queen. To top everything off, her best friend has been forever changed by her time spent captive in Faerie.

But the personal takes a backseat to the professional when a string of suicides occur in Nekros City and Alex is hired to investigate. The shades have no memory of the days leading up to their brutal endings, so despite the very public apparent suicides, this is murder. But what kind of magic can overcome the human will to survive? And why do the shades lack the memory of their deaths? Searching for the answer might mean Alex won’t have a life to remember at all…

But while conducting an investigation in the Olympic Peninsula, she sees a ghostly car accident and finds a victim who insists he was murdered, blaming the nearby picturesque community of Sunset Lakes—called “Blood Lake” by locals.

Harper soon learns that beneath the icy waters of the lake hides a terrible power and a host of hellish beings—both of which are held under the thrall of a sinister cabal that will use the darkest of arts to achieve their fiendish ends…

Doctor Who: Shada - The Lost Adventure by Douglas Adams, de Gareth Roberts. Serie: Doctor Who.

Sinopsis:

From the unique mind of Douglas Adams, legendary author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, comes Shada, a Doctor Who story scripted for the television series Doctor Who, but never produced--and now, transformed into an original novel...

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
Imagine how dangerous a LOT of knowledge is...

The Doctor's old friend and fellow Time Lord Professor Chronotis has retired to Cambridge University, where among the other doddering old professors nobody will notice if he lives for centuries. He took with him a few little souvenirs--harmless things really. But among them, carelessly, he took The Worshipful and Ancient Law of Gallifrey. Even more carelessly, he has loaned this immensely powerful book to clueless graduate student Chris Parsons, who intends to use it to impress girls. The Worshipful and Ancient Law is among the most dangerous artifacts in the universe; it cannot be allowed to fall into the wrong hands.

The hands of the sinister Time Lord Skagra are unquestionably the wrongest ones possible. Skagra is a sadist and an egomaniac, bent on universal domination. Having misguessed the state of fashion on Earth, he also wears terrible platform shoes. He is on his way to Cambridge. He wants the book. And he wants the Doctor...
